Today we paused the recruitment effort as we found our new survey platform was not configured to distribute unique survey URLs to participants. This would have impeded our ability to track which participants have completed the baseline survey.
While our programmer worked on figuring out these technological kinks, our recruitment staff worked on practicing the enrollment process since the beta test involves more components than our previous study activities. We also practiced going through the baseline survey, since it seemed that at least some participants would want to complete it via telephone call. We also made some updates to the baseline survey: We replaced the word “somewhat” to “somehow”, which is more salient to Ugandans, and removed the question, “To make sure your browser is working correctly, please select ‘Strongly agree’ in this line.”
