We were able to enroll one more participant today for a total of 24, and get the two participants who were pending on agreeing to the Code of Conduct to agree to it. All participants who have finished the baseline survey have now started the program. The project coordinator has been actively following up with one of the participants started the baseline survey a week ago but never finished – this participant finally finished today and was randomized to the Control group.
We still have not yet implemented a way to conduct the weekly sms survey over telephone call, which seems necessarily as all participants who have received the weekly sms survey still have not responded.
Regarding the online baseline survey, it’s emerging that participants (two of them so far) who use the “Resume Later” button in our survey are actually being exited out of the survey and marked as “Interrupted” status. They aren’t able to go back and access their survey again. We just discovered today that although the button is labeled as “Resume Later”, the button’s function is actually to quit the survey.
As a temporary fix, we have changed the survey language to say “If now is not a good time to take the survey, you can close your Internet browser and come back to the survey later.” and removed the Resume Later button. We are still working on implementing individualized survey URLs so that participants can access the same survey regardless of the device they are accessing it from.
